Deuteronomy 31 - Not forsaking my God

Setting – Moses will commission Joshua to lead Israel. Israel will defeat the nations before them. But the Lord told Moses that Israel would forsake the Him.

Content – Moses is 120 years old and God said that his death is pending. He was to commission Joshua to lead Israel across the Jordan. God will go before Israel into the Promise Land (v. 8), “…The LORD is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."
God tells Moses that Israel will fall away from Him (v. 18), “But I will surely hide My face in that day because of all the evil which they will do, for they will turn to other gods” Moses was to write a song (v. 19), “…so that this song may be a witness for Me against the sons of Israel.” & (v. 21), “…Then it shall come about, when many evils and troubles have come upon them, that this song will testify before them as a witness (for it shall not be forgotten from the lips of their descendants)”.

Application – Sad to note that at the end of Moses’ life that he knew that Israel will disobey the commandments that he has been writing and instructing for most of his life (v. 29), “For I know that after my death you will act corruptly and turn from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days, for you will do that which is evil in the sight of the LORD, provoking Him to anger with the work of your hands.”
What would Moses say to me upon his death? Would he say that he knows that God will prosper me and that I will remain faithful the God commandments? I sure hope so. I hope that God’s face is towards me and that He is eager to bless me. I sure felt like He has showered me with blessings and continues to prosper me; I want this to continue.

You know, people can forsake God in little ways, too. Not reading your Bible every day is a way of forsaking God, right? Or disobeying him?
Don't forget to post stuff about life, too, like you did at the beginning of your blog. It's really cool that you post devotions, but people want to find out about you. :-)
Love your super sweet, really adorable, amazingly talented, unbelivelby smart, too awesome for words daughter,
