Numbers 28

Setting - God is outlining the law for offerings.
Content - The offerings were:
- Daily or continual offering: 2-male lambs 1-in the morning, 1-in the evening and the libations (consisting of fine flour, grain, wine and oil).
- Sabbath offering: 2-young male lambs and the libations.
- Beginning of the month offering: 2-bulls, 1-ram, 7-young male lambs one-year old without defect all with libations.
- Sin offering: 1-male goat with libations.
- Passover (14th day of the first month): Unleavened bread eating for 7-days, no work on the first day, 2-bulls, 1-ram and 7-male lambs one-year old without defect with libations and 1-male goat for sin atonement. For 7-days, they present the food offering by fire with libations also. No work on the 7th day.
- Festival of Weeks (First fruit offering): new grain offering, no work on the first day. 2-young bulls, 1-ram, 7-male lambs one-year and 1-male goat for atonement with libations all without defect.
Application - Each offering represented a future fulfillment, such as Passover being Christ death and Festival of weeks, Pentecost. God’s plan of redemption and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit were already established. God’s plan was to redeem His people (Jews and Gentiles) Eph. 1:9-11, “(v. 9) He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him…(v. 11) having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will”
God having a plan from the beginning to return us to a relationship with Him is a wonderful reality. This means that God didn’t opt to abandon us, even though He would have full right to do this.
