Daniel Summary

God saved Daniel from death twice and Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah once proving to the king that He was far greater than he (Nebuchadnezzar) was. God gave Nebuchadnezzar a warning ahead of time to acknowledge God as the one who has him in power and to stop sinning. But he refused to humble himself. Once he became sane, he acknowledged that “I praised and worshiped the Most High and honored the one who lives forever. His rule is everlasting, and his kingdom is eternal” and “His kingdom will last forever, his rule through all generations”. Belshazzar didn’t humble himself and God told him that his kingdom was soon to end. In fact, he died that night. Daniel recounted what happened to Nebuchadnezzar and advised Belshazzar to humble himself and stop sinning as well, but didn’t.
Other administrators and advisers tried to displace Daniel from his position. But God prevented Daniel from being killed in the lions den. Even though it looked like the administrators and advisers plot succeeded, God proved otherwise, by miraculously saving Daniel from the circumstances.
Daniel receives visions of future events of kings and kingdoms, such as Alexander the Great and Antiochus. We see the rise and fall of both present kings, during Daniel’s lifetime, but also those in the future. We see that God is aware present and future circumstances by the visions He provided Daniel.
In Daniel’s petition of prayer for the restoration of Israel, God discloses how Israel will be restored in the end-times.
God provided Daniel more information on the end-times from the angel Gabriel. We see that there is occurring spiritual warfare, which prevent Gabriel from coming to Daniel sooner. God had Gabriel tell Daniel of the end-times and what was to happen. How the anti-Christ would rise to power and fall. He also advises of the tribulation and how long it will last. Also, how the saints will be resurrected, “you will rise again to receive the inheritance set aside for you”
