Joshua 15 - Partial devotion is not devoted

Setting – Chapter outlines Judah’s territory.

Content – This chapter outlines Judah’s territory. Caleb is given a portion of Judah’s territory, Hebron. Caleb gives his daughter Achsah to Othniel because Othniel caputer Kiriath-sepher. Judah wasn’t able drive out the Jebusites (v. 63), “Now as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the sons of Judah could not drive them out; so the Jebusites live with the sons of Judah at Jerusalem until this day.”

Application – I’m not sure why the Jubusites weren’t able to drive them out, but God wanted this done. God wanted them to completely drive out or rid the land of other inhabitants, but didn’t do so. Later on, this caused problems for Israel.
We need to follow through with what God wants from us as Christian’s. Partial commitment isn’t acceptable to God (Rev. 3:16), “So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.”
