Setting - A concern arisen regarding loosing an inheritance if Zelophehad’s daughters married into other tribes.
Content - It was brought before Moses that Zelophehad’s daughters would own the inheritance of their land. If they were to marry, their inheritance would combine with husband’s tribes. God said that they might marry whom they wish as long as it is within the family of their father. In doing so, no inheritance would transfer; Zelophehad’s daughters did as the Lord commanded.
Application - We can bring our conflicts to the Lord. Here the loss of an inheritance could be an issue. The people brought it before Moses, who brought it before the Lord, and God gave instructions regarding the answer and addressed the concern.
God is clearly aware of our issues/conflicts. He gladly will want to lead us to the right answer, but we need to address Him with them.
