Setting - God outlines the offerings for the seventh month celebrations, which are the Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement and Feast of Tabernacles (or Feast of Booths) (see Leviticus 23:23-44)
Content - offerings:
- First day of month (Feast of Trumpets): No work, blowing of trumpets, 1-bull, 1-ram, 7-male lambs one-year old without defects with libations. Also, 1-goat for sin offering.
- Tenth day of the month (Day of Atonement): No work, 1-bull, 1-ram, 7-male lambs one-year old without defects with libation and 1-goat for atonement.
- Fifteenth day of the month, start of the 7-day observation, known as Feast of Tabernacle, or Feast of Booths). No work. Not sure if there was no work for all seven days or just the first - most likely just the first. This is because on the eight-day, they were to rest also.
God wants us to remember our past where He brought us through stuff. I recall often about circumstances that I saw God’s provision or deliverance from something. One such example is not getting the first house we put a bid on. We didn’t understand it at the time, but God did close the door on that home. We prayed that if He didn’t want us there that He’d close the door and He did. The reason was that He wanted to provide a better home for us. I think it would be good for me (us) to journal these types of events so that we can recall and celebrate His blesses as a continue reminder.
