Setting - Balak tried three times to have Balaam curse Israel.
Content - Each time Balaam went to God and God said that He would bless and not curse Israel. Balaam experienced the great site of Israel and Balaam told of the bless that God would bestow upon Israel, verse 20, “Behold, I have received {a command} to bless; When He has blessed, then I cannot revoke it.”
Application - When God blesses it’s permanent. Even though Israel sinned, God was still committed to His covenant with Jacob, that being, that He would bless his descendants. Even though I might sin or not remain faithful, as God is faithful, it doesn’t invalidate God’s blessing upon me - the blessing of the forgiveness of sins and the inheritance in heaven. Praise God for being a faithful God. I can only hope that I can be a blessed child to Him.
