Deuteronomy 1 (Moses recounts Israel's journey)

Setting - Moses recounts Israel’s events after their exodus from Egypt.
Content - Moses reviews major events, such as the establishment of judges over the people, Israel’s objection to enter the Promise Land and Israel’s loss to the Amorites after they changed their minds to take the Promise Land (but God told them not too since He wasn’t with them in their battle).
Application - It’s good to review where we’ve been. This occurred in the book of Numbers as well. When we review we can see the good and the bad events and decisions which led us to where we are at now. We are fortunate to see the consequences and blessing of what Israel did. The sad reality is that we don’t seem to take their live lessons to heart and end up following in their unbelief/rebellion.
