Numbers 30

Setting - Moses tells Israel what the Lord said about vows, primary between a man and woman.
Content - If a man or woman makes an oath to the Lord they are to keep it. If a woman or daughter makes an oath and the husband or father does nothing to forbid the oath, then the woman or daughter are bound to the oath. If the husband or father forbids the oath, then the women or daughter are not bound to the oath.
Application - God supports binding one to their vows. In the case of a woman or daughter, the husband or father can annual the vow if they speak up upon hearing the vow. Otherwise, the woman or daughter is bound to the vow.
We need to watch what we vow. God doesn’t take this lightly. Unlike a person’s word today, God still wants us as Christians to stick to our vows. And as such, we need to be careful to what we bind ourselves to. If God is our example, He remains faithful to His word or His vows.
